Currently, I am leading the Math, Language, and Computer Science departments in a comprehensive curriculum redesign to ensure alignment with district and state standards and the delivery of high-quality instruction. This involves collaborative work with teachers to develop and implement new curriculum maps, instructional materials, and assessment strategies. Following this, I led the school’s Continuous Improvement Committee, facilitating sessions focused on implementing strategies for successful student instruction and driving school-wide improvement initiatives. This included developing and implementing a data-driven approach, guiding department chairs in examining student work to evaluate assessment effectiveness and identify areas for growth. I provided ongoing coaching and mentorship to department chairs, equipping them to support teachers in delivering meaningful instruction, designing and scoring formative assessments, analyzing data, and implementing instructional action plans. Furthermore, I facilitated professional development workshops for teachers on best practices in instructional strategies, assessment design, and data analysis, ensuring these were interactive and practical.
My leadership extended to monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented strategies, using data to track student progress and make adjustments. This encompassed analyzing student achievement data, observing classroom instruction, and gathering feedback from teachers and students. Critically, I cultivated a culture of continuous improvement, fostering collaboration and shared ownership among teachers, department chairs, and administrators through regular meetings and opportunities for teachers to share best practices and learn from one another. This resulted in demonstrable improvements in student learning outcomes and teacher efficacy in data-driven decision-making.
